Iran lost to Australia 80-54 in the 2017 International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Asia-Oceania Championships final on Saturday.
Iran had lost to Australia 78-60 in the final game of the previous edition, Tasnim news Agency reported.
The West Asian team defeated Saudi Arabia 85-31, New Zealand 91-15, Thailand 89-62, China 86-45 and Japan 80-76 on its way to the final game in Beijing.
Omid Hadi Az’har from Iran was named the competition’s most valuable player.
The Iranian team booked a place at the IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships as the tournament’s best four teams. The championships are slated for Hamburg next year.
