Iran defeated Thailand 89-62 in the IWBF (International Wheelchair Basketball Federation) Asia Oceania Championships on Wednesday.
Iran, which has previously defeated Saudi Arabia 85-31 and New Zealand 91-15 in the competition underway in Beijing, will face host China on Thursday, Tasnim News Agency reported.
In the men’s competition, 14 teams are divided into four pools and play a round-robin. The top two in each pool will progress through to the quarterfinal round.
The four semifinalist will secure a ticket to the 2018 World Championships, scheduled to take place in Hamburg next year on August 17-26.
