Tehran University of Art Launches Online Institute

Artyad, the first online educational institute approved and supported by Tehran University of Art, has become operational.

According to the public relations of Artyad, the institute intends “to become the most comprehensive virtual facility in art education,” Honaronline reported. Initially, Artyad will run three courses in music theory, Introduction to performing literature and cinema sociology.

Music theory is conducted by the young guitar and santur player Ali Dasmeh, 21, who has learned music since childhood. Presently he is majoring in Tehran University of Art, under the tutelage of master musician and researcher Majid Kiani, 74, and santur player Nazli Tahvildari.

Author, editor, essayist, theater critic and researcher in literature Ataollah Koupal, 56, is teaching Introduction to performing literature and the course in cinema sociology is instructed by documentarian Shahab Esfandyari, 38.

All the courses are conducted in 10 sessions. Each session is 20 minutes long, containing audio files and images.

Participants, who pass the exams, will receive certificates validated by the Cultural Department of Tehran University of Art, the biggest art university in Iran.
