Ireland Growth on Track

Goodbody Stockbrokers Friday released a report which shows that Ireland is on track to be the fastest-growing economy in the eurozone for four years in a row in the period from 2014-2017, Business World reported. No other country has ever achieved this, it said. The report shows that the Irish economy is experiencing its strongest growth in 15 years. Despite rather sluggish growth in the eurozone, Ireland’s expansion is going from ‘strength to strength’. The GDP growth of 6.6% is expected in 2015, followed by 4.5% and 3.8% in 2016 and 2017, respectively. According to Goodbody Stockbrokers, “On our preferred measure of growth–core domestic demand–Ireland is forecast to grow by 5.4% in 2015, followed by 4.9% and 4.4% over the forecast period. As such, the expansion in Ireland is both real and broad-based.”
